Our Parsonage
Pastor Search Committee — Thu, 01/31/2008 - 13:16
Located at 446 East Orleans Street in Paxton, IL this 4 bedroom 1 1/2 bath home is our Pastor's residence. It is located off an old-fashioned brick road on a 75x160 lot with mature trees and an unattached 24x24 two-car garage, that was built in 1996. With a wrap-around staircase and wonderful angles, each floor of the parsonage provides 960 square feet of living space. Take a look at some of these pictures!

2007 Church Survey Results
Pastor Search Committee — Wed, 01/30/2008 - 07:12
In December of 2007 the Search Committee compiled and distributed a Church Survey. This survey
provides two functions for the search process. First, it helps us compile a list of traits and qualities that the congregation would like to see in a Pastor. Second, the results of the survey are also shared with the denomination as well as potential pastors. They use these results to get a feeling for our congregations unique traits.
The results from all the surveys have been tabulated, and I would like to take a moment to share some of the more interesting results with you.
96% of respondents at least Somewhat Agreed to the following:
- Our church should be much more involved in the local community.
- Our church should be focused on serving our members and people outside of our church family.
- I feel like I am part of the church family.
- Our church should focus on inviting people to our church.
- Our church should teach a life of prayer.
- Our church should encourage small group Bible study and prayer.
- Our church should have a Christian education process that focuses on life-long learning.
- My faith has grown over time.

2008 Lenten Family Nites
Congregation Events — Mon, 01/28/2008 - 22:16
The first of our annual Lenten Family Nites will take place on February 10th at 6:00pm with subsequent "Nites" every Sunday through March 9th. This year we will be discussing volume six of the video series by That The World May Know Ministries, entitled In The Dust of the Rabbi: Becoming a Disciple. Dinner and child care will be provided. Everyone is welcome!
"Follow a rabbi, drink in his words, and be covered with the dust of his feet," says the ancient Jewish proverb. Disciples followed so closely that they would be covered with the dust kicked up by the rabbi's feet. Come, discover how to follow Jesus, as you walk with teacher and historian Ray Vander Laan through the breathtaking terrain of Israel and Turkey and explore what it really means to be a disciple.
